Job Title: IT Support Technician (Entry Level)Class SummaryThis entry-level position is responsible for documenting, triaging, and facilitating resolution of support requests for Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) hardware and software applications. The role provides frontline technical support and ensures timely and accurate issue resolution in alignment with service desk standards.
Essential Duties1. Customer Service Support- Facilitate client support requests for installation, repair, relocation, or modification of computer hardware, software applications, and related systems.
- Respond to initial inquiries via phone or email and troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network issues.
- Recognize when issues require escalation and route them to higher-level support teams as needed.
- Verify with end users that issues have been successfully resolved.
- Participate in a call rotation and maintain accurate records of all client interactions.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, applications, business analysis, IT security, and PMO teams to coordinate service requests.
2. Technical Operations- Provide onsite and remote diagnostics and resolution for hardware and software issues.
- Troubleshoot a variety of systems within the IT infrastructure and work with departments to resolve issues.
- Research, analyze, and resolve customer problems using appropriate tools and resources while maintaining ownership of issues.
- Log all service requests in the help desk ticketing system and update tickets promptly.
- Monitor internal IT assets to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Perform application updates and maintenance as required.
3. Administration & Compliance- Document service requests clearly and concisely, ensuring proper categorization based on problem type, severity, and impact.
- Follow established IT Service Desk procedures, standards, and workflows.
- Participate in a 24/7/365 shift and on-call rotation as required.
- Ensure privacy and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA and KCAB Policy 1040 as a member of the Covered Entity.
4. Team Collaboration- Contribute to a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Support team objectives and assist with additional duties as assigned.
Training and Experience- Associate's degree in Information Technology or related field, or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform job duties.
- 0-3 years of related experience (bootcamp or internship experience acceptable).
