Senior WAN Engineer

We are seeking a Senior WAN Engineer to manage and optimize a global, mission-critical network spanning operational sites, data centers, carrier networks, cloud environments, and satellite communications infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with BGP, internet edge routing, SD-WAN/SASE, carrier circuits, and cloud connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and troubleshoot eBGP/iBGP, routing policies, peering, and failover.

• Deploy and manage SD-WAN/SASE solutions, preferably Cato Networks.

• Implement and troubleshoot cloud connectivity, including Equinix Fabric and AWS Direct Connect.

• Manage carrier circuits, circuit activations, cutovers, outages, and SLA escalations.

• Support LAN/WAN connectivity across operational sites and data centers.

• Monitor network performance, maintain documentation, and manage capacity planning.

• Execute production changes following established change-control and audit processes.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity, telecom providers, and network architecture teams.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of network engineering experience, including 3+ years in WAN, internet edge, or service-provider environments.

• Active CCNP Enterprise, Service Provider, Data Center, or equivalent certification.

• Strong production experience with BGP, carrier peering, routing policies, and failover.

• Hands-on SD-WAN experience; Cato Networks strongly preferred.

• Experience with carrier circuit provisioning, troubleshooting, and cloud interconnects.

• Strong documentation, incident management, and change-control skills.

• Ability to work on-site in Covington, travel to operational sites, and participate in on-call support.

Preferred Qualifications

• CCIE or CCNP Service Provider.

• Experience with EVPN/VXLAN, Kentik, Check Point firewalls, and satellite communications.

• Python or Ansible network automation experience.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
