We are looking for an experienced SAP Data Engineer / HANA Data Modeler with strong SAP functional knowledge and extensive hands-on experience modeling SAP data for enterprise data warehouse and analytics platforms. This is not just an ETL/data engineering role. The ideal candidate should understand how SAP business processes are represented across underlying SAP tables and be able to translate complex SAP transactional structures into scalable, business-friendly dimensional and analytical models. The candidate should be comfortable working with SAP functional teams, data engineers, architects, BI teams, and business stakeholders to understand the business process, identify the appropriate SAP source tables and relationships, and design data models that can support enterprise reporting and analytics. Key Responsibilities Design and develop enterprise data models using data originating from SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA. Understand SAP business processes and translate functional requirements into technical data models. Identify the appropriate SAP tables, keys, relationships, joins, document flows, and business rules necessary to represent business processes correctly. Build and optimize SAP HANA Calculation Views and analytical models. Transform complex SAP transactional structures into fact, dimension, and other analytics-ready models for enterprise data warehousing. Model SAP data across functional areas such as: Sales & Distribution (SD) Materials Management (MM) Finance / Controlling (FI/CO) Order-to-Cash Procure-to-Pay Inventory and Supply Chain Understand relationships across common SAP business objects such as sales orders, deliveries, billing documents, purchase orders, material movements, inventory, customers, vendors, materials, and financial postings. Work with functional SMEs to validate that data models accurately represent the underlying SAP business process
Job Description
This role focuses on designing and developing enterprise data models using SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA data to power data warehouses, analytics platforms, and business intelligence solutions. You will combine deep SAP functional knowledge with advanced data modeling and HANA modeling skills to transform complex SAP transactional structures into scalable, business-friendly analytical models. Working closely with SAP functional teams, data engineers, architects, BI teams, and business stakeholders, you will translate business processes and reporting needs into robust, reusable data models that support enterprise reporting, dashboards, and downstream data products.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop enterprise data models using data originating from SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA to support data warehousing and analytics use cases.
- Understand SAP business processes and translate functional requirements into precise, scalable technical data models.
- Identify the appropriate SAP tables, keys, relationships, joins, document flows, and business rules needed to represent business processes accurately.
- Build and optimize SAP HANA Calculation Views and analytical models, leveraging SQL-based transformations where appropriate.
