AEM Solutions Engineer Lead - Brooklyn, NY Hybrid 12 Months Contract

Job Title: AEM Solutions Engineer Lead (Adobe Experience Manager)
Location: 2 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid   3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Duration: 12 Months 
Work Hours: 35 hours/week (Mon Fri, normal business hours)
 

Job Overview 
The NYC Office of Technology and Innovation is seeking a highly experienced AEM Solutions Engineer Lead to support the redesign and expansion of NYC.gov digital services. This role will lead AEM development efforts for the NYC Design System and guide scalable implementations across public-facing digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and maintenance of AEM components, templates, workflows, and integrations

• Oversee AEM development lifecycle including Cloud Manager, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments

• Troubleshoot performance issues, Dispatcher configurations, and caching strategies

• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions

• Conduct code reviews and mentor developers; enforce best practices and coding standards

• Integrate AEM with third-party systems (CRM, DAM, analytics tools, APIs)

• Monitor application performance and implement observability and diagnostics

• Stay current with AEM and Adobe Experience Cloud advancements

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on AEM development experience

• Strong expertise in AEM Sites, Assets, Sling Jobs, and workflows

• Proven leadership experience guiding development teams and mentoring engineers

• Deep knowledge of Java, Sling, OSGi, HTL (Sightly), HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

• Experience with Dispatcher configuration, caching, and performance tuning

• Experience with AEM Cloud Service and on-prem deployments

• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Git, Maven, Jenkins, etc.)

• Strong troubleshooting skills in production AEM environments

• Experience working in Agile environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Adobe Target

• Integration experience with Adobe Analytics

• Familiarity with Akamai CDN

• Experience with translation tools (Smartling, TransPerfect)

• Knowledge of search platforms (Coveo, Solr)
