Summary

Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you're empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us challenge the status quo and transform the finance industry together.

We believe in the importance of in-office collaboration and fully intend for the selected candidate for this role to work on site in the specified location(s).

Schwab Technology Services enables the future of how clients manage their money by delivering innovative, reliable technology solutions that support our mission of expanding access to investing and financial planning.

As a Senior Manager, Technology and Business Strategy, you will play a highly visible role partnering with Technology Services senior leadership, including CIO and CTO organizations, to help shape the future direction of the technology organization and its strategic priorities. You will manage a team of 1-3 junior members and lead complex, enterprise-level initiatives that influence business outcomes, technology investments, operating models, and executive decision-making.

In this role, you will drive strategic planning efforts, evaluate emerging technology and industry trends, and translate complex information into clear, actionable recommendations for executives, Board-level stakeholders, and regulatory audiences. Success requires strong analytical thinking, business acumen, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while leading cross-functional teams through strategic initiatives from ideation to execution. You will provide mentorship and 'on the job' coaching for junior team members while embodying a consulting mindset and demonstrating core consulting competencies. You'll have the opportunity to influence transformational work across areas such as digital client experiences, application modernization, cloud and platform strategy, cybersecurity, technology efficiency, product innovation, and emerging technologies.

Joining this team means working alongside accomplished technology and business leaders in a collaborative, high-performance environment where your expertise, creativity, and leadership can have a meaningful impact on the future of Schwab's technology strategy. You'll gain exposure to enterprise-wide priorities while continuing to build strategic leadership, executive communication, and technology advisory skills.

What you have

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, technology strategy, product management, or a related strategic function.
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic initiatives from concept through execution, including problem framing, analysis, business case development, and executive-level recommendations.
  • Experience leading teams in a consultative setting and proven ability to collectively achieve the objectives of strategic initiatives.
  • Proven ability to develop presentations, communicate complex ideas, and influence decisions with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience facilitating meetings, leading working sessions, and driving alignment across multiple business and technology teams.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to evaluate complex business, technology, market, and industry trends and translate findings into actionable strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions in ambiguous environments where outcomes and implications may not be fully known.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and strategic projects concurrently while maintaining attention to detail and execution excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive results through teamwork and partnership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in consulting, technology strategy, product strategy, or corporate strategy roles.
  • Experience within financial services, wealth management, asset management, brokerage, or investment advisory environments.
  • Knowledge of technology strategy topics including Agile delivery models, DevOps practices, cloud platforms, application modernization, and technology operating models.
  • Experience evaluating cybersecurity, data, digital transformation, or emerging technology initiatives such as Artificial Intelligence.
  • Familiarity with strategic planning frameworks and performance management methodologies such as Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
  • Experience conducting market research, competitive analysis, technology trend assessments, or vendor evaluations.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation development capabilities.
  • Experience with data visualization, analytics, and reporting tools such as Tableau, SQL, or Alteryx.
  • Experience working with executive leadership, Board-level communications, or regulatory-facing initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience coaching, mentoring, or developing others in a fast-paced environment.

In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
