Role Overview
The Business Technology Solutions (BTS) Policy & Standards Principal is responsible for assessing, developing, and establishing governance processes for BTS policies and standards. This role will evaluate the current policy landscape, define a standardized lifecycle management approach, and align policies to regulatory, security, and operational requirements. This position partners with BTS, Privacy, Security, Legal, and Internal Audit stakeholders to ensure alignment with various frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive inventory and assessment of existing BTS policies and standards.
- Identify gaps, redundancies, and inconsistencies across current artifacts.
- Review, update, and draft policies and standards aligned to regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Translate high-level policy objectives into clear, enforceable standards and control expectations.
- Define and document a standardized BTS policy lifecycle process (drafting, review, approval, publication, and maintenance).
- Establish governance structures, roles, and responsibilities for policy ownership and oversight.
- Partner with SMEs across BTS and control functions to validate policy requirements and ownership.
- Support development of policy communication and awareness materials.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, or a related field.
Experience: 7+ years of experience in IT governance, risk, compliance, or policy management. Experience working with regulatory and control frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, SOX, etc.).
Technical Skills: Strong policy writing and technical documentation skills. Deep understanding of IT governance and control frameworks. Ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear business-facing standards. Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.

- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
A Day in the Role
On a day-to-day basis, this individual will partner with team members and stakeholders to inventory and centralize existing BTS policies and standards. Responsibilities include reviewing current materials to identify gaps, facilitating discussions to validate requirements, and defining a standardized process for policy and standards lifecycle management. Performance expectations include the completion of a comprehensive inventory, timely assessment of policy gaps, and development of a standardized governance process.
