iSeries Systems Developer / Operator

We are looking for an iSeries Developer (80%) /Operator (20%) for a position expected to be a remote contract to hire based out of the northeast.

Must have insurance background and experience with WINS / Wheatley Insurance Systems or something similar.

The iSeries/WINS Systems Developer/Operator is responsible for overseeing and managing the iSeries AS400 and WINS system in COBOL and CL based environment. The position is responsible for planning and implementing effective system maintenance and upgrades, as well as designing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure optimal system performance and security as required by the business.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in Development and Operations on an iSeries/AS400 including the ability to upgrade the Iseries OS/400 operating system, Applying PTFs, performing IPL’s and Tape library management
• Strong knowledge and expertise in programing languages such as COBOL/400, SQL/400, CLP/400 SDA, RLU, PDM, WRKQRY, Sequel, ACOM, Catapult, DFU.
• Demonstrated expertise in Insurance for Management of the WINS system
• Full knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies and tools for the iSeries.
• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
