Kforce has a client that is seeking an Electrical Designer in Plano, TX.
Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical Designer to support the design and manufacturing of power distribution and electrical equipment. This individual will develop and maintain electrical drawing packages, schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials (BOMs) used for manufacturing, quality, and customer documentation.
The Electrical Designer will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, project management, quality, and purchasing teams to produce accurate, production-ready documentation and implement design revisions throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
* Create and revise single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnection diagrams, and panel layouts
* Develop complete drawing packages for manufacturing and customer deliverables
* Produce equipment and panel layouts with consideration for accessibility, serviceability, routing, and manufacturability
* Utilize electrical design software to create and maintain schematics, layouts, and supporting documentation
* Support 3D cable, wire, and harness routing activities when required
* Develop and maintain component libraries, symbols, templates, and standard drawing packages
* Interpret customer specifications and convert requirements into production-ready documentation
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design questions and implement engineering changes
* Support BOM creation, validation, and alignment with engineering and manufacturing documentation
* Manage revisions, document control, and released designs within PDM/PLM environments
* Review drawings and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before release
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and design standardization efforts
REQUIREMENTS:
* Minimum 2 years of experience creating electrical drawing packages for industrial controls, power distribution equipment, switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, PDUs, ATS/STS equipment, or similar engineered electrical assemblies
Experience with at least one of the following:
* SolidWorks Electrical (including 3D wire routing)
* AutoCAD Electrical
* EPLAN
* Autodesk Inventor Cable & Harness/Inventor Electrical
* Comparable electrical design software
* Experience supporting drawing revisions, BOM development, and manufacturing change implementation
* Experience working with PDM, PLM, ERP, or other engineering document management systems
* Understanding of revision control, released documentation, and engineering change processes
* Ability to interpret customer specifications and produce manufacturing-ready documentation
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Desired:
* Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or related field
* Experience designing or documenting low-voltage or medium-voltage power distribution equipment
* Experience creating or supporting 3D electrical layouts, cable routing, and electromechanical assemblies
* Familiarity with UL standards and power distribution equipment requirements
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineered-to-order production environment
* Ability to travel up to 20%
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
