Job Description

At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer II to join the Lighting & Controls division in Denver, CO. The Mechanical Engineer II will develop high-quality market differentiated luminaire designs. This individual will be responsible for new product development from concept through production and must be able to design highly configurable product families that are uncompromising in quality and performance yet cost
effective and simple to assemble, install, and maintain.

Responsibilities

What Will You Do?
  • Assist in designing and developing products using tools like CAD and engineering drawings
  • Support improvements to existing products and custom solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and cross-functional teams
  • Participate in brainstorming and problem-solving sessions
  • Analyze design changes and support engineering evaluations
  • Follow all safety and compliance standards
  • Support special projects as assigned to meet business needs
  • Analyze historical engineering data to identify design trends and opportunities
  • Create technical communication assets (drawings, renderings, portfolios)
  • Work directly with engineers, marketing, and product teams on real deliverables

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Proficient in Solidworks and mechanical design; proficient in Microsoft office suite
  • Team player mentality with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of project management and stage gate methodologies
  • Working knowledge of DFMA
