Willow Ambulatory Consultant

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Willow Ambulatory Consultant to support the design, build, optimization, and ongoing support of Epic Willow Ambulatory workflows. This role requires deep expertise in Epic systems and pharmacy operations, with a strong preference for candidates who are former Epic employees and bring insider knowledge of best practices and architecture.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience implementing and optimizing Willow Ambulatory within complex healthcare environments, with additional exposure to Specialty Pharmacy and Willow Inventory modules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Epic Willow Ambulatory implementations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to design efficient pharmacy workflows
  • Configure, build, test, and deploy Willow Ambulatory solutions aligned with organizational needs
  • Provide subject matter expertise on medication management, dispensing workflows, and regulatory compliance
  • Conduct system analysis, troubleshooting, and issue resolution across pharmacy systems
  • Support integration efforts between Willow and other Epic modules (e.g., Beacon, Resolute, Cadence)
  • Develop and maintain documentation including workflows, system specifications, and training materials
  • Lead or participate in end-user training sessions and post-go-live support activities
  • Identify opportunities for system optimization and performance improvement
  • Ensure adherence to Epic best practices and governance standards

Required Qualifications

  • Former Epic employee (REQUIRED) with direct experience supporting Willow applications
  • Epic certification in Willow Ambulatory (or Willow Inpatient with relevant ambulatory experience)
  • 4+ years of hands-on Epic Willow experience (implementation and/or optimization)
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy operations and medication workflows in ambulatory settings
  • Proven experience in system configuration, build, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Experience leading or supporting full lifecycle Epic implementations

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications

  • Experience with Specialty Pharmacy workflows, including prior authorization, benefits investigation, and refill management
  • Experience with Willow Inventory module (supply management, procurement, inventory tracking)
  • Additional Epic certifications (e.g., Willow Inventory, Beacon, or other related modules)
  • Experience working in large, complex health systems or multi-site environments
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., 340B, DSCSA compliance)
  • Consulting experience with client-facing delivery experience

This is a Contract position based out of New Orleans, LA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $90.00/hr.
