Description The Manager of Information Technology will own and oversee internal IT operations and infrastructure while strengthening the firm's cybersecurity posture in partnership with an outsourced vCISO provider. Reporting to the Head of AI & Technology Solutions, this role sits within the AI & Technology Solutions team and partners closely with Product and Data leadership to align IT systems with future workflows and AI initiatives.
This position is central to building a modern, reliable, and secure technology environment that enables seamless collaboration and world-class user experience. The firm operates on a hybrid model, with a strong preference for spending at least three days per week in the Chicago office in coordination with leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Elevate Internal Technology Experience
- Significantly improve internal satisfaction with technology and tech support
- Ensure team members feel supported, empowered, and unencumbered by avoidable technical issues
- Collect and act on ongoing feedback to continuously improve the user experience
Manage Managed Service Provider (MSP)
- Oversee the firm's MSP and ensure SLAs are consistently met or exceeded
- Drive a high-touch, white-glove support culture
- Own vendor contracts and renewals across hardware, software, cybersecurity, and IT services
- Hold MSP and security partners accountable through structured performance reviews
- Lead quarterly MSP and vCISO alignment sessions
- Step in hands-on when needed to expedite resolutions or validate MSP work
Own IT Infrastructure
- Manage hardware lifecycle planning, procurement, and inventory
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding in partnership with HR and external partners
- Administer core platforms including Google Workspace, Slack, Box, Microsoft 365, and other key applications
- Ensure strong identity and access management through Okta
- Oversee JAMF or Intune policies with MSP support
- Maintain accurate internal documentation, runbooks, and system records
- Handle escalated troubleshooting as needed
Cybersecurity Leadership
- Serve as the internal point of contact for information security
- Conduct basic internal checks including device compliance, MFA enforcement, and endpoint security
- Partner with vCISO providers on threat monitoring, SIEM/log reviews, risk and vulnerability assessments, and incident response planning
- Support evaluation and selection of vCISO partners
- Ensure clear alignment and execution of security responsibilities across vendors
