Position Overview We are seeking an experienced
AWS Cloud Architect with strong expertise in the
Payments domain to design, build, and support modern, scalable cloud-native payment applications. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of digital payments, financial networks, cloud architecture, and modern engineering practices.
This role requires hands-on AWS skills, strong knowledge of payment processing flows, and the ability to simplify and architect complex systems.
Must-Have Technical & Functional Skills - Proven experience building and implementing payment applications.
- Strong AWS Cloud Architecture design and implementation skills.
- Experience working with digital payments, payment gateways, or financial networks.
Roles & Responsibilities - Architect, design, and implement secure, scalable AWS cloud solutions for payment platforms.
- Work hands-on with major AWS services across compute, storage, networking, security, and serverless technology.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to define payment architecture and integration patterns.
- Ensure payment system reliability, performance, and compliance with financial industry standards.
- Lead design sessions and provide architectural guidance across teams.
- Create high-quality documentation including technical designs, process flows, and architecture diagrams.
- Simplify and explain complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in payments and financial networks.
Required Experience - 8+ years in the financial services industry.
- 2+ years hands-on experience with digital payment implementations (e.g., card payments, ACH, RTP, wallets, payment gateways).
- 2+ years of delivering innovative solutions in payments or financial networks.
- Strong understanding of payment processing flows, settlement, authorization, fraud checks, compliance, etc.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to document processes clearly.
Preferred Skills - Experience with API-driven payment architectures.
- Understanding of PCI-DSS, ISO 8583, NACHA, SWIFT, or other financial messaging standards.
- Familiarity with microservices, event-driven design, and serverless architectures.
- Ability to mentor teams and provide architectural leadership.
