Data Reporting Analyst

Location: Oakland, CA (Onsite - 5 days/week)

Overview

We are seeking a Data Reporting Analyst to support a Managed Self-Service (MSS) analytics program within an Enterprise Data & Analytics organization. This role will help drive adoption of self-service analytics tools while ensuring compliance with governance, security, and reporting standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with Power BI, Snowflake, SQL, data governance, user support, and analytics operations.
Key Responsibilities
Usage Monitoring, Compliance & Reporting
  • Monitor and manage Power BI workspace and Snowflake usage.
  • Track compliance with established analytics governance standards and policies.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for usage metrics, adoption, and compliance trends.
  • Identify non-compliant usage patterns and support remediation efforts.
  • Assist with monitoring, auditing, and governance initiatives.
Access Management & Onboarding
  • Manage user access requests for Power BI workspaces and Snowflake environments.
  • Support onboarding and provisioning of new users.
  • Ensure access requests align with role-based governance and security requirements.
  • Maintain tracking and documentation of requests, approvals, and service-level agreements.
User Support & Enablement
  • Provide ongoing support to business users following training programs.
  • Serve as a resource for Power BI and dashboard-related questions.
  • Assist users with:
    • Navigating Power BI workspaces
    • Understanding datasets and dashboards
    • Basic data exploration using Snowflake and SQL
  • Promote best practices for reporting, documentation, and data usage.
Documentation & SharePoint Administration
  • Maintain and update SharePoint resources, including:
    • Documentation
    • Onboarding guides
    • Training materials
  • Ensure content reflects current processes, tools, and governance standards.
  • Improve accessibility and organization of analytics resources.
Project Coordination & Change Management
  • Support day-to-day program execution and operational activities.
  • Track project status, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Coordinate communications and updates across stakeholders.
  • Assist with rollout of process, tool, and governance enhancements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of overall professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a quantitative, analytics, reporting, or data-focused role within a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Microsoft Power BI (reports, datasets, and workspaces)
    • Snowflake
    • SQL querying and data analysis
  • Experience with dashboard development, reporting, and usage monitoring.
  • Understanding of data governance, compliance, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Familiarity with self-service analytics environments.
  • Ability to support users with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Experience coordinating projects, initiatives, or operational programs.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and change management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within enterprise data platforms or analytics centers of excellence.
  • Knowledge of Power BI governance, workspace administration, and lifecycle management.
  • Exposure to data literacy initiatives, training programs, or user enablement efforts.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Jira, or similar collaboration tools.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Data extraction and reporting technologies
    • SQL, databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools
    • ETL processes and data integration
    • Automated data acquisition and self-service reporting solutions
    • Data visualization platforms and best practices
  • Strong consultative mindset with the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across departments.
