Summary

Job Description
The Senior Systems Engineer (Microsoft M365) provides senior-level technical leadership and hands-on expertise in the administration, optimization, and governance of enterprise Microsoft environments. This role is responsible for analyzing system and information requirements, evaluating workflow and operational challenges, and developing corrective actions to ensure performance, security, and reliability of Microsoft M365 services.

The Senior Engineer supervises system engineering staff, supports real-time enterprise systems, and provides strategic and operational guidance across collaboration, productivity, and infrastructure platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, configure, and optimize enterprise Microsoft environments, including Microsoft M365 services from initial deployment through ongoing operations
  • Analyze information and system requirements to support enterprise collaboration and productivity platforms
  • Evaluate workflow, organizational, and planning issues and develop appropriate corrective technical actions
  • Provide daily supervision, guidance, and direction to system engineering staff
  • Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex Microsoft platform issues
  • Support and integrate Microsoft M365 services, including identity, collaboration, messaging, and productivity tools
  • Ensure availability, performance, and security of Microsoft environments supporting real-time, interactive systems
  • Administer and support hyper-converged infrastructure environments as part of integrated enterprise solutions
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure system interoperability
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational standards
  • Support platform upgrades, configuration changes, and lifecycle management initiatives

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in:
    • Computer Science
    • Information Systems
    • Engineering
    • Business
    • Or another related scientific or technical discipline
  • Minimum 6 years of general experience in systems engineering
  • At least 3 years of specialized experience supervising system engineers
  • Demonstrated experience supporting interactive, real-time systems with online acquisition capabilities
  • Proven ability to analyze system requirements and develop corrective technical solutions
Preferred Qualifications
  • 15 years of experience administering Microsoft applications, including full lifecycle administration of Microsoft M365 from initial launch
  • 5 years of experience administering hyper-converged infrastructure environments
  • Current professional certifications, including:

    • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
    • Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP)
  • Experience leading and mentoring system engineering teams
  • Strong background in enterprise collaboration platforms, identity management, and productivity services
  • Master's degree in a related technical discipline (preferred)
