SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) Expert – DTP, PCS, QM, MPS

Location: Remote

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Production Planning (PP) Expert with strong functional expertise in Discrete & Process Manufacturing (DTP/PCS), Quality Management (QM), and Master Production Scheduling (MPS).

The ideal candidate will lead the design, configuration, and deployment of SAP S/4HANA manufacturing solutions to support complex production environments. This role requires deep end-to-end manufacturing process knowledge, hands-on S/4HANA configuration experience, and the ability to collaborate closely with business stakeholders to deliver scalable and integrated SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

SAP S/4HANA Production Planning

• Lead design, configuration, and deployment of SAP S/4HANA PP solutions for Discrete, Process, and Hybrid manufacturing
• Configure and support:
• DTP (Discrete / Repetitive Manufacturing)
• PCS (Process Manufacturing)
• Production versions, BOMs, recipes, routings, and master data
• Order types and production strategies
• Implement and optimize MPS and MRP strategies aligned with demand planning and business goals
• Support capacity planning and production execution processes

Quality Management (QM):

• Configure and integrate SAP QM within production and procurement processes
• Design and support:
• In-process inspections
• Goods receipt inspections
• Quality notifications and usage decisions
• Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards

Integration & Process Optimization:

• Ensure seamless integration between PP, QM, MM, SD, EWM, and FI/CO
• Support manufacturing scenarios including:
• Make-to-Stock (MTS)
• Make-to-Order (MTO)
• Engineer-to-Order (ETO)
• Process Manufacturing
• Optimize KPIs such as throughput, yield, lead time, and capacity utilization

Project & Delivery Leadership:

• Lead workshops and solution design sessions
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system design documents
• Support:
• Data migration
• Unit, Integration, and UAT testing
• Cutover and go-live activities
• Provide post-go-live support and continuous improvement initiatives

Advisory & Best Practices:

• Advise stakeholders on SAP S/4HANA best practices and roadmap innovations
• Support ECC to S/4HANA conversions (brownfield/greenfield)
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to knowledge sharing

Required Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, IT, or related field

Experience

• 8+ years of SAP PP experience, including S/4HANA implementations
• Hands-on experience in:
• Discrete & Process Manufacturing (DTP / PCS)
• SAP QM integration
• MPS, MRP, and capacity planning
• Experience in global or multi-plant manufacturing environments

Technical Skills

• Strong configuration expertise in:
• SAP S/4HANA PP
• QM (inspection types, plans, notifications)
• MPS/MRP parameters
• Understanding of S/4HANA data model and simplifications
• Experience with SAP Fiori apps related to PP and QM

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP certification in S/4HANA Manufacturing or Production Planning
• Experience with Advanced Planning tools (PP/DS, APO, IBP)
• Exposure to Industry 4.0 / Digital Manufacturing initiatives
• Experience in regulated industries (Pharma, Chemicals, F&B, Automotive, High Tech)
