Overview

• Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end software development life cycle, from decomposing complex functional requirements into actionable technical tasks to overseeing the deployment of global applications. This role focuses on providing high-level technical insight, mitigating project risks, and mentoring junior developers to ensure the delivery of high-quality business value within an Agile framework.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Architects, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Value Stream Managers to provide insight into delivering business value and meeting objectives.
• Decompose functional and technical requirements into project activities and tasks, providing conceptual designs, prototypes, and test cycles appropriate to technical solutions.
• Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies while introducing and recommending industry best practices and standards.
• Evaluate and assist in the selection and procurement of hardware and software technologies.
• Work with stakeholders and analytical counterparts to define constraints and develop requirements and concept of operations documentation.
• Conduct code reviews for other developers and provide constructive feedback to maintain high engineering standards.
• Integrate complex or existing systems into modern architectures.
• Mentor junior developers and serve as a technical lead throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
• 8 years of experience in software design and development, software test and evaluation, and software requirements management.
• Expert knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and programming languages such as JavaScript, C, and Python.
• Advanced knowledge of cloud technologies including AWS or Azure.
• Advanced knowledge of database technologies such as SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL.
• Expert proficiency in integrating complex and existing systems.
• Advanced knowledge of software engineering best practices, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong experience with Deployment, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, and Continuous Delivery processes, including expertise in CI/CD tools and frameworks.
• Advanced experience with deploying global applications and configuration management.
• Advanced knowledge of test-first practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) for unit tests and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) for automated acceptance tests.
• Expert ability to communicate technical requirements to stakeholders of all expertise levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in establishing and maintaining productive working relationships.
