Position SummaryThe role involves performing highly advanced (senior-level) consultative services and functional support work related to a large-scale Human Capital Management (HCM) and Payroll system.
The candidate will serve as a functional expert in HR/Payroll systems, supporting areas such as Workforce Administration, Payroll Interface, Commitment Accounting, Time and Labor, Recruiting, HR Security setup, and row-level security. The role includes interpreting and applying HR policies, labor regulations, and compliance requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesFunctional HR/Payroll Expertise- Support core HR/Payroll modules including Workforce Administration, Payroll Interface, Commitment Accounting, Time and Labor, and Recruiting functions
- Configure HR security, including role-based and row-level security
- Define and refine leave and entitlement structures, including compliance with leave regulations
- Ensure integration of HR, Payroll, and Time & Labor modules
- Support compliance reporting and auditing activities
Functional Design & Configuration- Create and review Functional Design Documents (FDDs)
- Perform system configuration and functional enhancements
- Use delivered platform tools (Page and Field Configurator, Drop Zones, Event Mapping, Page Composer, etc.)
- Configure HR tables (job codes, positions, departments, compensation structures, etc.)
- Understand HR business units, Set IDs, and table structures
Workflow Management- Configure and support Approval Workflow Engine (AWE)
- Manage workflow setup, user roles, notifications, and worklists
- Monitor and troubleshoot workflow performance
- Support workflow enhancements and documentation
Technical & Reporting Skills- Work with Application Designer (records, fields, pages, components)
- Support integrations using Integration Broker (REST/SOAP services)
- Develop and maintain reports using SQR and BI Publisher
- Write and optimize SQL queries
- Support system security and multi-tenant architecture requirements
Batch Processing & Operations- Monitor and manage batch jobs
- Track job execution, failures, dependencies, and scheduling
- Perform performance tuning and validation
- Maintain documentation and escalation processes
Tools & Environment Management- Work with system update tools, change management tools, and lifecycle management processes
- Support UI enhancements and navigation improvements
- Manage data migration, comparisons, and system updates
- Support search framework and indexing tools
Support & Collaboration- Provide Level 2 support and advanced troubleshooting
- Gather requirements for enhancements and break/fix solutions
- Document solutions and support testing (UAT, regression testing)
- Use incident tracking tools for issue management and resolution
- Collaborate with functional users, technical teams, and external vendors
- Train users and provide knowledge transfer
Project & Operational Activities- Support system enhancements and module expansions
- Assist in cyclical processes such as fiscal year-end, calendar year-end, tax-related processes, and regulatory updates
- Coordinate system upgrades, testing, and validation activities
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution
- Support audit, compliance, and control testing activities
- Ensure adherence to accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1)
Minimum Required Skills & Experience- 15+ years: Strong knowledge of HR and payroll policies and labor regulations
- 15+ years: Technical experience with Application Designer, Integration tools, SQL, reporting tools, and related technologies
- 12+ years: Experience in system configuration and support
- 12+ years: Experience supporting batch jobs, scheduling, and job monitoring
- 12+ years: Knowledge of security frameworks and multi-tenant system design
- 10+ years: Experience in large enterprise HR/Payroll environments
- 10+ years: Experience developing functional roadmaps and system strategies
- 10+ years: Experience supporting HCM/Payroll systems (PeopleSoft or equivalent)
- 10+ years: Experience with system tools such as update managers, search frameworks, and UI enhancements
- 10+ years: Experience in Tier 2 production support environments
- 10+ years: Experience handling critical incidents and operational escalations
- 10+ years: Experience with disaster recovery exercises
- 10+ years: Experience preparing executive-level presentations and reports
- 10+ years: Experience supporting audits and compliance documentation
- 8+ years: Experience with SQL and data synchronization across systems
- 8+ years: Experience ensuring compliance with leave and HR regulations
