Remote Senior Golang Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Remote Senior Golang Engineer.

Responsibilities:
* Senior Golang Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services
* Build and enhance RESTful APIs and service-based architectures
* Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data structures for performance and scalability
* Troubleshoot, refactor, and improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability
* Develop and deploy containerized applications using modern cloud-native practices
* As a Senior Golang Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver technical solutions
* Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Support production environments and help resolve complex technical issues

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
* 7+ years of backend software development experience
* 3+ years of hands-on experience developing applications in Go (Golang)
* Strong experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning
* Experience designing and building REST APIs and distributed services
* Experience with Docker and containerized application deployment
* Experience working in Agile development environments and modern CI/CD practices
* Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
* Proficiency in one or more additional backend languages such as Java, C#, .NET, Rust, or similar
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with microservices architectures
* Experience with ORM frameworks and database abstraction layers
* Experience with cloud platforms and modern deployment technologies
* Experience integrating third-party APIs and external systems
* Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern software engineering practices

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
