The Management Consulting Manager will lead complex, cross-functional programs focused on custom application development and modernization. This role partners with client executives and product leaders to translate business priorities into actionable roadmaps, then drives end to end delivery across SDLC using Agile methods. The Manager orchestrates product owners, business and systems analysts, developers, QA/Testing, Release Management, and Data/Analytics to deliver secure, compliant, high quality software at scale. Healthcare industry experience is highly beneficial, including familiarity with regulated environments, PHI/PII, and release governance.
This position builds trusted client relationships, ensures program transparency, manages risk and budget, and uplifts teams with modern delivery practices (Agile, Scrum, Dev/Test/Release management), while aligning architectures, data models, and operating models to achieve measurable business outcomes.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
Client leadership and strategy: Partner with client sponsors and business/product leaders to understand needs, define approaches/project plans, and translate them into actionable technology roadmaps, activities, milestones, and stories.
Program and delivery management: Serve as an integrated Program Manager from planning through execution for custom app dev programs, setting delivery methodology, governance, and success criteria.
Lead and coordinate Product Owners, BAs/BSAs, architects, engineers, test leads, and release managers; establish sprint cadences, backlogs, and delivery plans across multiple workstreams.
Own scope, schedule, budget, RAID, dependencies, and cross team alignment; drive issue resolution and decision facilitation with clear escalation paths.
Establish quality gates across SDLC; oversee test strategy and execution (unit, integration, system, UAT), defect triage, and readiness checkpoints.
Direct release planning and Release Management, including cutover planning, change management, and post release validation; ensure compliance in regulated environments (healthcare preferred).
Methods, governance, and transparency: Implement Agile/Scrum practices at team and program levels; enable backlog hygiene, metrics (velocity, burn up/down), and continuous improvement.
Create program dashboards and executive status reporting for schedule, scope, budget, risks, and benefits realization; maintain stakeholder alignment and communications.
Technology, data, and architecture alignment - Align solution architecture, integration patterns, data architecture, and non functional requirements with business outcomes. Coordinate with security and compliance teams.
Guide build vs. buy decisions; ensure cohesive system designs and data models that support analytics and downstream reporting needs.
Change, Adoption, and Value Realization Own end-to-end organizational change management, including change strategy, leadership alignment, stakeholder communications, training and enablement, adoption measurement, and operational readiness. Ensure sustained behavior change and quantifiable value realization from new solutions.
People leadership - Build and mentor high performing delivery teams; promote collaboration, accountability, and excellence in a dynamic environment.
Required Skills and Experience - 8+ years of related professional experience, preferably in technology or management consulting, leading custom application development programs end to end.

Proven program/project leadership across the SDLC with strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum, backlog management, sprint execution, and program level governance.
Experienced in coordinating app development, product, QA/testing, and Release Management teams; knowledgeable in test strategies and release cutovers.
Strong understanding of SDLC processes, requirements management, and dependency/risk management for multiteam delivery.
Experience partnering with Product Owners/Business Owners to define and prioritize roadmaps and requirements for custom builds.
Healthcare experience is very beneficial (e.g., regulated delivery, privacy/security controls, clinical/administrative workflows).
Excellent client service orientation; able to build executive rapport and present complex topics to technical and non technical audiences.
Highly organized, detail oriented, comfortable with ambiguity; excels at prioritization in fast paced, high volume settings; operates independently.
Strong proficiency with core productivity tools (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; intermediate Excel).
Bachelor s degree required; advanced degree preferred in Business, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications - Formal Agile certifications (e.g., ScrumMaster/PSM, SAFe) and/or PMP.
Experience with release governance in regulated environments; familiarity with change advisory boards and formal approvals.
Exposure to modern applications and integration architectures, cloud services, and data/analytics enablement to support product outcomes.
