What you'll do

Our Application Engineering Director is responsible for leading a team of field and lab application engineers that provide technical service, training, and valued-added product and equipment solutions to customers within our Metal Packaging market segment.
  • Influences and executes the Metal Packaging business strategy in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Product Development, and other functions.
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit in delivering results.
  • Demonstrates cross-functional leadership in supporting Innovation, Sustainability, and Quality Complaint management.
  • Main/lead technical liaison at Key Accounts and industry associations.
  • Lead a team up to 7 engineers with responsibility for our application engineering lab
  • Based in Madison Heights, MI with travel within US, Mexico, Canada up to 50% (Hybrid-role)
What makes you a good fit
  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant engineering/scientific discipline is required.
  • 15+ years of experience in an engineering, scientific, or technical management role in the Metal packaging industry is required.
  • Experience with Surface Treatment chemicals, Sealants, Can-Making, and/or associated knowledge in Metal Packaging is strongly preferred.
  • Team and People Leadership, Business Acumen, Drives Innovation and Change.

The salary range for this role is $160,000.00 and $200,000.00. This range represents the good-faith minimum and maximum wages the Company reasonably expects to offer for this role at the time of posting. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for incentive pay or other forms of compensation, as applicable. The Company also offers a comprehensive benefits package as described above. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as the candidate's skills, experience, education, training, and work location.
