Data Center Infrastructure Engineer

Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer (Dell PowerFlex)

Position Summary

We are seeking 2 experienced Infrastructure Engineers to support a Professional Services engagement focused on repurposing inherited Dell PowerFlex R660 all-flash storage racks for Cohesity deployment.

This role requires hands-on data center execution, including node re-imaging, DRAC health validation, iDRAC IP reconfiguration, firmware updates, and coordination with data center operations teams.

The engagement spans 80 racks (1,600 nodes) across 4 data centers, delivered in two phases. Candidates must be comfortable working in enterprise environments with strict change management and access controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Dell DRAC physical console health checks and connectivity validation
• Reconfigure iDRAC IP addressing and verify successful access
• Re-image PowerFlex nodes (PX uninstall and Cohesity installation)
• Execute Cohesity firmware updates
• Validate hardware readiness on Dell PowerEdge R660 platforms
• Support rack-level physical activities in data center environments
• Create and manage Change Requests (CRs) in alignment with enterprise processes
• Coordinate with DCMS teams for site access, scheduling, and execution
• Track progress across multi-phase rollout activities

Scope of Work

• 80 racks × 20 nodes = 1,600 nodes
• 4 data center locations
• Execution across 2 phases

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Dell DRAC / iDRAC administration
• Experience supporting Dell PowerEdge R660 servers
• Strong knowledge of PowerFlex node management (PX uninstall & re-imaging)
• Experience with Cohesity installation and firmware upgrades
• Solid understanding of networking/IP configuration
• Experience working in data center environments (rack-level execution)
• Familiarity with enterprise change management processes (CR workflows)
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional operational teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure repurposing or migration projects
• Exposure to multi-site deployments
• Knowledge of data center access protocols and escort procedures
• Strong troubleshooting and execution discipline in controlled environments

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a senior-level Infrastructure or Field Engineer with:

• Strong server hardware expertise
• Experience with out-of-band management (DRAC/iDRAC)
• Skills in OS re-imaging and firmware lifecycle management
• Ability to operate effectively in enterprise data center environments

Success Criteria

• Completion of DRAC health checks and connectivity validation
• Accurate iDRAC IP reconfiguration with verified access
• Successful node re-imaging (PowerFlex → Cohesity)
• Timely firmware updates execution
