Job Title: PSAP Test Engineer

Job Location: San Ramon, CA

Pay Range: $45/hr to $46/hr

  Execute scheduled test plans for 911 vendors and platforms; validate releases, patches, and PSAP integrations
  
  


• 
  
  Perform regression + functional testing across wireline, wireless, and accessibility devices
  
  


• 
  
  Troubleshoot end-to-end 911 call scenarios (SIP signaling, routing failures, audio issues, location delivery)
  
  


• 
  
  Work directly with vendors on deep-dive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and proof-of-concept testing
  
  


• 
  
  Spend time in lab/PSAP environments (not always at a desk) supporting testing and issue resolution
  
  


• 
  
  Document defects, test results, and recommendations to support certification/compliance sign-off
  
  

• 
  
  Hands-on PSAP / 911 technical experience (supporting call handling systems, PSAP tech, 911 field engineering, etc.)
  
  


• 
  
  Proven ability to troubleshoot actual calls (not signal validation / drive testing)
  
  


• 
  
  Experience working with vendors: ticketing, escalation, validation of fixes, and PoC-style work
  
  


• 
  
  Strong understanding of 911 call flows and how routing + location delivery should behave
  
  


• 
  
  Working knowledge of SIP / VoIP concepts and troubleshooting in a telecom environment
  
  


• 
  
  Able to work onsite Monday Friday and move between desk and lab/PSAP locations as needed
  
  

• 
  
  Calm, methodical problem-solver in high-impact/life-safety environments
  
  


• 
  
  Clear communicator who can translate issues to vendors and internal teams

  Strong documentation habits and attention to detail

  Proactive and flexible (comfortable being away from computer while supporting PSAP/lab work)
