Description: Our client is currently seeking a Hardware Engineer (III)

About the Role

A leading Quantum Computing Hardware team is seeking a Hardware Engineer II to develop and validate cutting-edge mixed-signal and RF systems. This is a true engineering role-not a technician position.

The successful candidate will design and implement first-of-their-kind testing protocols for advanced quantum computing electronics, requiring strong engineering intuition and hands-on lab expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute test methodologies for novel mixed-signal and RF hardware.
Perform First Article Verification on custom-designed boards, validating functionality from scratch.
Troubleshoot complex systems, distinguishing between device failures and test setup issues (e.g., cabling, lab noise).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance quantum computing hardware initiatives.
Automate data collection and analysis using Python or MATLAB.

Required Qualifications

Education

BS in Electrical Engineering (minimum).
MS in Applied Physics or Microwave Engineering (preferred).

Technical Expertise

Mixed-signal systems, low-frequency DACs, FPGAs, and microwave/RF frequencies (up to 10GHz+).
Proficiency with VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, and high-speed oscilloscopes (20GHz).
Experience with TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) is a plus.
Strong scripting skills in Python (MATLAB acceptable).

Experience

2-4 years of hands-on lab experience, ideally with an advanced degree.
Background in Aerospace & Defense (Radar/TR modules) or Test Equipment Manufacturing (Keysight, Tektronix).
Candidates from large technology companies are considered only if they have Analog/RF backgrounds.

Preferred Attributes

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design test protocols without existing manuals or infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to bring up and validate new hardware boards.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, innovation-driven lab environment.
