Tempest Practitioner

Our organization is in search of a dedicated, career-focused, and customer-oriented TEMPEST Practitioner to become a part of our team in Springfield, VA.

The selected TEMPEST Practitioner will utilize their robust technical expertise and knowledge to enhance our technical security initiatives. This includes the development of technical documentation, addressing necessary controls, and executing required tasks and actions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the execution of technical assessments, inspections, evaluations, and reviews with precision and within set deadlines.
• Supporting the establishment and management of technical security programs, which involves analyzing requirements and formulating processes to control or reduce compromising emanations.
• Offering technical guidance and support by gathering essential information, such as drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications, while aiding with workflow requests.
• Performing technical testing and visual inspections of facilities, systems, and equipment, including shielded enclosures and distribution systems.
• Representing technical interests in discussions regarding classified information processing, providing thorough assessments of technical scope, and ensuring accurate reporting.
• Overseeing daily operations, ensuring the accuracy of automated workflow processes, and managing annual technical evaluations.
• Maintaining technical readiness, qualifications, and the upkeep and calibration of test equipment in accordance with relevant policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED with over 7 years of progressively responsible experience in technical security, TEMPEST, or related facility inspection fields.
• Extensive experience navigating facility evaluation processes and national technical security standards.
• Proven experience in fulfilling security requirements within specialized technical environments or similar settings.
• Experience collaborating within a large team to promote a security agenda and working with complex, interconnected systems.
• Familiarity with inventorying intricate facility layouts and technical documentation, including shielding, grounding, and distribution systems.
• Experience in creating, maintaining, and conveying complex information technology documentation, particularly related to facilities and security.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduated from an accredited federal or Counterintelligence training academy.
• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Possess advanced technical security training and certifications for foundational and facility design courses.
• Self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating across teams, organizing meetings, and driving organizational change.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must hold an active TS/SCI clearance and have the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
• Occasionally required to move around the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Regular communication with colleagues, management, and clients, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be capable of exchanging accurate information in these scenarios.
