Team: TBAJob Title: Systems Operations Engineer 4 / Pega SRE Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC or Irving, TX - Hybrid (3 days onsite mandatory)
Contract Length: 18 months (potential extension; must be eligible for conversion)
Pay Rate: $60 - $65
Top Requirements:2+ years of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience with strong production support backgroundExperience supporting Pega platforms (Pega Smart Investigate preferred)Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, AppDynamics)Plusses:Experience with automation/scripting (Python or Java)Experience with AutoSys or workload scheduling toolsExperience in financial services or payment operations environmentsDatabase knowledge and performance troubleshooting experienceStrong understanding of DevOps and reliability engineering practices (SLIs/SLOs, incident response)Job Summary:In this contingent resource assignment, you may: Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Systems Operations Engineering. Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Systems Operations Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables. Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:Production Operations & Reliability- Provide hands-on production support for Pega Smart Investigate and PFIX environments
- Ensure high availability and system stability through proactive monitoring and incident response
- Participate in on-call rotations and lead resolution of critical production incidents
Incident, Problem & Change Management- Lead incident response, perform root cause analysis, and conduct postmortems
- Drive remediation efforts to prevent recurring issues and improve recovery times
- Collaborate with release and change management teams for safe deployments
Observability & Monitoring- Design and enhance monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions
- Improve service visibility using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or AppDynamics
- Reduce alert noise and improve detection accuracy
Automation & Engineering- Identify manual processes and implement automation to reduce operational toil
- Develop scripts or automation tools using Python/Java
- Support self-healing and auto-remediation solutions where applicable
Reliability Engineering- Define and implement SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
- Embed reliability practices earlier in the SDLC ("shift-left")
- Identify gaps in processes and improve operational workflows
Collaboration & Platform Support- Work closely with engineering, platform, and operations teams
- Support payment operations applications running on Pega workflows
- Troubleshoot application-level issues and optimize platform performance
