Summary

Job Title: Forward Deployed Engineer Location: Onsite and Remote (Colorado Springs, CO preferred)
Clearance: Active Top Secret Required

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Forward Deployed Engineer to support the U.S. Army's . This role involves working directly with end users in operational environments to design, develop, and enhance mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical solutions and real-world mission requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Soldiers and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Develop, test, deploy, and maintain application features and enhancements
  • Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting in both on-site and remote settings
  • Implement rapid updates and improvements based on user feedback
  • Conduct training sessions and mentor users on application functionality
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups
  • Design and integrate RESTful APIs for seamless system communication
  • Work with engineering teams to improve scalability, performance, and development workflows
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders
  • Travel occasionally within CONUS to support mission sites

Required Qualifications
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Strong experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Backend development experience using Node.js or similar frameworks
  • Experience working with relational databases (schema design and optimization)
  • Proficiency in designing and integrating RESTful APIs
  • Experience with containerization tools such as Docker
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting military or federal government environments
  • Full-stack development experience (React, Node.js, Express)
  • Experience with microservices architecture and Kubernetes/EKS
  • Familiarity with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban)
  • Security+ certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months
