Overview

The Senior Systems Analyst will support data analytics, data warehousing, and data science initiatives for the client’s Data Analytics team. This role operates at a senior technical level and is responsible for planning, designing, and supporting complex analytical systems and applications. The position works across multiple business units, partners closely with stakeholders to define requirements and system objectives, and independently leads highly complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, design, and development of new data engineering, analytical, and data science applications, as well as enhancements to existing applications
• Meet with decision-makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals and identify and resolve business systems issues
• Operate independently on the most complex projects at the highest technical level of all phases of application systems analysis activities
• Formulate or define system scope and objectives based on user needs
• Develop or refine procedures to address complex challenges while considering system limitations, operational timeframes, and desired outcomes
• Work with multiple business units in multi-platform environments on multi-project assignments
• Guide and advise less experienced Systems Analysts
• Design and develop dashboards and reports using Power BI
• Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmers
• Coordinate and perform in-depth testing, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems
• Provide orientation and training to end users for modified and new systems
• Create and deliver effective presentations to colleagues and peer groups at all levels
• Document standards and procedures for various analytic platforms
• Develop test cases and validate test results
• Coach and transfer knowledge to less experienced team members
• Proficiently perform assignments requiring independent judgment in planning, organizing, and conducting work

Required Skills

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a systems analyst in Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, and Data Science projects
• Minimum of 7 years of work experience in SQL, including expertise in complex SQL queries
• Minimum of 5 years of experience designing DataMarts with a focus on dimensional modeling
• At least 3 years of experience designing and developing Power BI dashboards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document projects and processes
• Skilled in developing impactful presentations and communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to work independently and implement solutions with minimal guidance
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead, collaborate, or work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Experience in a regulated industry (preferred)
• Experience with Power Apps (nice to have)
