Job Summary

We are seeking a VMware Cloud on AWS Engineer/SME to design, implement, manage, and optimize hybrid cloud environments using VMware Cloud on AWS. The candidate will be responsible for cloud migrations, infrastructure management, performance optimization, and operational support of VMware-based workloads running on AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage VMware Cloud on AWS environments.
• Perform workload migrations from on-premises VMware infrastructure to VMware Cloud on AWS.
• Configure and manage SDDC components including vSphere, vCenter, NSX, and vSAN.
• Monitor infrastructure health, performance, availability, and capacity.
• Implement networking, security, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, connectivity, and performance issues.
• Automate operational tasks using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Collaborate with cloud, networking, security, and application teams.
• Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Provide L2/L3 support and technical guidance for cloud operations.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with:
  • VMware Cloud on AWS
  • VMware vSphere
  • VMware vCenter Server
  • VMware NSX
  • VMware vSAN
• Good understanding of AWS services including:
• Experience with hybrid cloud architecture and migrations.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (VPN, Direct Connect, routing, firewall policies, DNS).
• Experience with PowerShell, PowerCLI, or Python scripting.
• Understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• VMware certifications such as:
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)
• AWS certifications such as:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Knowledge of automation and DevOps practices.
