IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide.
Our client is looking for an Applications Project Manager responsible for planning, managing, delivery and ongoing application support for IT initiatives for departments and Agencies, including the implementation of and/or integration with COTS and SaaS vendor solutions as well as the development and enhancement of internally developed line-of-business applications.
Tasks
- Responsibilities include actively managing day-to-day project tasks, working closely with 4 8 technical and business team members, coordinating with vendors, and contributing directly to key deliverables (i.e., requirements, testing plans, and implementation documentation).
- Additional responsibilities include managing department customer relationships.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Strong communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure adherence to established technical, security, and governance standards are required.
- The customer approach emphasizes strong partnerships with County departments and Agencies, clear communication, accountability, and practical execution to deliver secure, reliable, and effective technology solutions that support essential public services.
Environment: Includes hybrid cloud and on-premises platforms, vendor-hosted solutions, and integrated systems using APIs and data exchanges.
NOTE: Local candidates preferred. This is a hybrid position. Minimum two days per week on-site.

Skills Required:
- 5+ years - Experience as an Application Project Manager. This includes planning, managing, delivery and ongoing application support for IT initiatives for County departments and Agencies
- 5+ years - Experience with implementation of and/or integration with COTS and SaaS vendor solutions as well as the development and enhancement of internally developed line-of-business applications
- 5+ years - Experience providing hands-on leadership, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and quality while applying a standard project management methodology and adapting delivery approaches as appropriate
- 5+ years - Expereince/familiarity with shepherding initiatives through RFI/RFP processes in coordination with Purchasing and Legal, including requirements development, vendor engagement, evaluation support and transition from award to implementation
Skills Desired A plus to have:
- Experience with project management methodology that incorporates Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid approaches as appropriate
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint for collaboration and documentation
- Experience with Clarity PPM for portfolio, schedule, and resource management
- Experience with Azure DevOps for tracking work and delivery coordination
- Experience with hybrid cloud and on-premises platforms, vendor-hosted solutions, and integrated systems using APIs and data exchanges
