RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Performance Test Engineer in Lansing, MI.

Summary:
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in performance testing, monitoring, and optimization of applications. The candidate should be a strong problem solver with excellent analytical skills, capable of designing and executing complex performance strategies and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Not an order taker, but someone who can explain the "why" behind the work they are doing.

Responsibilities:
* Performance Test Engineer will design and lead comprehensive performance testing strategies aligned with business requirements and project goals
* Create, configure, and execute test scripts in tools such as JMeter to simulate realistic workloads
* Monitor and diagnose application performance using APM tools (e.g., Dynatrace)
* Integrate performance testing and monitoring within CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins
* Conduct capacity planning and provide recommendations for scaling applications in cloud or containerized environments
* Use version control systems (e.g., Bitbucket) to manage test scripts, configurations, and documentation
* Collaborate with development, DevOps, and operations teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
* Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot applications running in Kubernetes or similar container orchestration environments
* Generate detailed performance reports, dashboards, and analysis for stakeholders
* As a Performance Test Engineer, you will perform root cause analysis for complex performance issues
* Advocate performance engineering best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
* Document test strategies, configurations, tuning recommendations, and lessons learned
* Participate in planning sessions to establish realistic performance targets and ensure dependencies are addressed

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
* 7+ years of experience in applications and systems performance testing and monitoring
* 5+ years of experience in application development
* Strong hands-on experience with JMeter or similar performance testing tools
* Experience managing and optimizing performance in Kubernetes or containerized environments
* Experience working in agile development environments
* Knowledge of CI/CD integration and version control tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket)
* Proficiency with APM tools (e.g., Dynatrace) for monitoring, diagnostics, and root cause analysis
* Strong skills with databases, SQL, and Linux environments
* Excellent communication skills and ability to independently resolve complex problems
* Ability to interpret performance data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for optimization

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
