Role Overview

We are seeking a highly technical SAP ABAP Remediation Specialist to lead the custom code adaptation process for our transition to SAP S/4HANA 2025. This is a full-time role for about 8 weeks. It is critical in ensuring that our existing 5TB database environment—comprised of SAP S/4HANA 2020 custom objects—is fully optimized and compliant with the S/4HANA 2025 simplification list and data model changes.

You will be responsible for analyzing, prioritizing, and fixing custom code identified by the SAP Readiness Check and ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC), ensuring a seamless upgrade with minimal disruption to business operations.

Core Responsibilities

·                     Code Impact Analysis: Execute and interpret SAP Readiness Check results and ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC) findings specifically for the S/4HANA 2025 release.

·                     Remediation Execution: Perform hands-on remediation of custom ABAP code, including adjustments to database accesses (Select *), removal of obsolete function modules, and fixing syntax errors related to the S/4HANA data model (e.g., MATNR length extension, Finance table unification).

·                     Performance Optimization: Refactor legacy code to leverage HANA-optimized syntax to ensure high performance on the new database layer.

·                     Integration Support: Remediate and test custom BAPIs, IDocs, and RFCs that are impacted by the 2025 simplification items.

·                     Collaboration: Work closely with Basis and Functional teams during the SUM (Software Update Manager) phases to troubleshoot code-related dumps and blockers.

·                     Documentation: Maintain a detailed log of remediated objects and provide technical documentation for post-upgrade support.

Technical Qualifications

·                     Deep ABAP Expertise: Mastery of Classical ABAP, Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP), and the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).

·                     S/4HANA Migration Experience: At least two full-lifecycle S/4HANA conversion projects, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience with recent versions (2022, 2023, or 2025).

·                     Tool Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of:

o        ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC) and Remote ATC.

o        SAP Readiness Check 2.0/3.0.

o        Custom Code Migration App on SAP BTP.

o        Eclipse (ADT) for HANA-based development.
