Location: Remote (Client Footprint Locations - Multiple)
Employment Type: 6+ month with possibility of Fulltime conversion.
Rate: $55- $60/hour 2
Role Overview
A large financial services client is seeking a Sr. Technical Analyst to support technical writers with documentation and explain API functionality. This role is central to understanding, explaining, documenting, and supporting the use of APIs that perform critical business and product functions. The analyst will act as a key liaison between engineering, product, marketing, and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Create comprehensive documentation for APIs, including their functional behavior, inputs, outputs, edge cases, and dependency relationships.
- Gather requirements from technical teams to organize and structure institutional knowledge.
- Provide code-side understanding by reading, interpreting, and explaining what the code is doing to non-technical team members.
- Write text-based and technical descriptions of system behavior.
- Assist with API documentation that may be used for marketing or external-facing purposes.
- Serve as a bridge between engineering, product/marketing, and business stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Extensive, demonstrable experience with APIs is required. The candidate must be comfortable analyzing and explaining API functionality. A strong background in traditional Business Systems Analyst (BSA) or Technical Analyst roles is necessary.
Technical Skills: Code literacy is mandatory. While this is not a developer role, the candidate must be able to understand, interpret, and describe what code is doing. Comfort working within existing systems is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a developer who has transitioned into an analyst role.
- Experience in the Fintech domain, particularly with payments APIs.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.
