Set up log retention policies and archive strategies to cover outages, translate business requirements, design data models. Review performance, availability, recoverability, data access methods, remediation, verification processes, features, functions, exception reports, audits, SOX reviews, deliverables, milestones, scalability, data integrity, regulatory compliance, schema designs, indexing, tablespace allocation, partitioning, storage, peak transaction volumes, batch processing windows, concurrency, throughput, patches, vulnerability, impact, queries, paths, buffer pools, database health, bottlenecks, migrations. Confer with application teams, define backup and disaster recovery strategies for production environment, support product upgrades, test and validate recovery procedures, provision privileges and roles, support replication technologies. Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, configuration standards, change records. Support high volume OLTP and batch production systems in mainframe environment. Identify issues, satisfy client/user needs, recommend database modifications. Use DB2, BMC, Change Manager, Catalog Manager, Mainview, z/OS, ETL, SQL, DB2 EXPLAIN, RUNSTATES, REBIND, Omegamon, DB2 Detector, Informatica, Data Stage, SSIS, AWS, Azure, ServiceNow, Buffer Pool Tuning, CDC, IDAA, RACF, JCL, TSO, ISPF, QMF, Log Analyzer, Erwin Data Modeler. 40 hrs/wk. Must have Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a related field and 2 years experience in the proffered position, or as a Developer, Software Engineer, Technology Analyst, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation. In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor s degree or foreign equivalent in the specified fields plus 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the specified occupations. Must have 2 years of experience administering databases; designing data models; reviewing performance, availability, recoverability, data integrity, indexing, tablespace, storage, queries, migrations, backup; using DB2, Mainview, z/OS, ETL, SQL, DB2 EXPLAIN, Omegamon, DB2 Detector, Informatica, Data Stage, SSIS, AWS, Azure, CDC, IDAA, JCL, TSO, ISPF, Log Analyzer. Must be willing to travel/relocate to unanticipated locations throughout the US on short notice for extended periods of time. Telecommuting permitted. $153,879 to $153,900/yr.
