We are seeking an experienced scheduling migration specialist to support large-scale migrations to IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IZWS / IWS). This role serves as a subject matter expert in batch scheduling conversion across development, test, and production environments.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and support migration of batch scheduling workloads to IBM Z Workload Scheduler.
· Analyze legacy scheduling definitions from CA-7, CA ESP, Jobtrac, BMC Control-M, and ASG Zeke/Zebb and map them to IBM scheduler structures.
· Execute parallel tracking, schedule validation, dependency analysis, and issue resolution.
· Monitor workload execution using TSO/ISPF and IBM scheduler interfaces.
· Provide technical guidance and training to scheduling teams and operational staff.
Mandatory Skills and Experience
· Strong mainframe background in OS/390 or z/OS environments.
· Deep hands-on experience with IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IZWS / IWS).
· Hands-on migration experience from Non-IBM / ISV scheduling platforms such as CA-7, CA ESP, CA Workload Automation ESP, Jobtrac, BMC Control-M, or ASG Zeke/Zebb to IBM Z Workload Scheduler.
· Strong TSO/ISPF editing skills and expert-level understanding of JCL.
· Experience with dependency analysis, schedule validation, report review, and iterative parallel tracking cycles.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical collaboration and customer-facing work.
Preferred / Additional Skills
· REXX programming skills.
· Workload Automation Programming Language WAPL knowledge.
· Dynamic Workload Console familiarity.
