Position Title: Senior Product Manager – Security Engineering
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to support the Security Engineering function within the IT organization. This role is responsible for driving the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of enterprise security solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate will bridge business, regulatory, and technical domains to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient products that reduce organizational risk and enhance operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
· Own and manage the product lifecycle for security engineering initiatives, including backlog definition, prioritization, and delivery oversight across areas such as:
o Cloud Security
o Identity and Access Management (IAM)
o Security tooling, automation, and orchestration
o Security operations support and service enablement
· Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather, analyze, and synthesize requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and risk posture
· Translate regulatory requirements, security policies, and stakeholder needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
· Develop and maintain strategic product roadmaps focused on security engineering capabilities, automation, and measurable improvements in efficiency, compliance, and risk reduction
· Balance short-term operational demands with long-term strategic objectives when managing and prioritizing the product backlog
· Drive transparency and alignment through effective stakeholder communication, including roadmap updates, delivery progress, and outcome reporting
· Promote enterprise-wide understanding and adoption of security policies, standards, and processes
· Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate product effectiveness and inform continuous improvement
· Collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions using Agile methodologies
Required Qualifications
· 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 4+ years supporting security engineering or cybersecurity-focused teams
· Strong experience in backlog management, requirements gathering, and roadmap delivery within Agile environments
· Deep understanding of security domains and technologies, including:
o Identity and Access Management (IAM)
o Cloud Security and Zero Trust Architecture
o Security Engineering and Architecture
o Network Security and Security Operations
o DevSecOps and vulnerability management
o Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
· Hands-on experience or strong subject matter expertise in one or more security engineering domains
· Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate business processes through technology solutions
· Experience working in federal environments, with strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and mandates, including:
o NIST Cybersecurity Framework
o NIST SP 800-53
o OMB Memorandum M-22-09
· Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently resolve complex security and product challenges
· Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including executives and non-technical stakeholders
· Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management across engineering, security, and business teams
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience supporting enterprise-scale security transformation or Zero Trust initiatives
· Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and modern security tooling ecosystems
· Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, SAFe Product Manager/Product Owner, or equivalent)
