IT Field / Desktop Support Technician
We are seeking two IT Technicians to support a large-scale deployment of 1,200-1,300 Zebra label printers across multiple healthcare sites over a 6-month engagement.
Technicians will be responsible for installing and mounting printers in patient rooms, which requires strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate work with nursing staff in active clinical environments. This role demands a high level of precision-cable management must be clean, organized, and completed correctly the first time.
In addition to printer deployment, technicians may assist with basic desktop support tasks, making this an ideal role for candidates with a strong desktop support background.
Responsibilities- Install, mount, and set up Zebra label printers across multiple sites
- Coordinate installation schedules with nursing and clinical staff
- Perform clean, professional cable management to established standards
- Install plug-and-play hardware and drivers as required
- Follow detailed instructions, documentation, and deployment procedures
- Provide basic desktop support as needed (hardware, peripherals, user assistance)
Top Skills & Qualifications- Strong soft skills and customer service experience-professionalism in patient-care environments is critical
- Experience working with plug-and-play devices and drivers
- Zebra label printer experience preferred
- Desktop support experience is sufficient
- High attention to detail and strong ability to follow directions and procedures
- Proven ability to perform clean, structured cable management
- background in desktop support, field support, or IT technician roles
Preferred Experience- Prior healthcare or hospital environment experience
- Printer deployment or large-scale hardware rollout projects
This is a hands-on role for technicians who take pride in quality work, communicate effectively, and can operate confidently in a clinical setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
