Senior Business Analyst (Hybrid Austin, TX)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a long-term project supporting enterprise application modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience gathering business requirements, improving business processes, collaborating with technical teams, and supporting the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops (JAD sessions), document analysis, and workflow analysis.
• Translate business needs into user stories, use cases, and detailed functional specifications.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and process flow diagrams following UX best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, QA teams, and project managers throughout the SDLC.
• Manage requirements, change requests, and project artifacts using Jira and requirements management tools.
• Perform business process analysis and recommend process improvements.
• Ensure delivered solutions meet business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Mentor junior Business Analysts and promote business analysis best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of Business Analyst experience.
• 8+ years of experience gathering and documenting business and system requirements.
• 8+ years of experience working across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• 8+ years of business process analysis and process improvement experience.
• 8+ years of experience writing user stories, use cases, and functional requirements.
• 8+ years of experience creating wireframes and mockups.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent written documentation and organizational skills.
• Experience using Atlassian Jira.
• Experience with a requirements management tool such as Modern Requirements or a similar platform.
• Experience working with an education agency, educational institution, or education technology organization.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working on enterprise application modernization projects.
