If yes then IDEAS (Insights Data Engineering, Analytics and Sciences) group is looking for qualified candidates to work with us with us to leverage the power of data, the skill of analysis, the science of learning to empower our stakeholders with insights on growth levers.

Our team plays a key role in providing data and analytics for M365 Commercial solutions including M365 Copilot across Microsoft. Our partners include E+D product teams, Finance, Field teams who drove adoption of our solutions across different industries, larger Enterprises, partner solutions. This role is ideal for a Data Scientist II who enjoys owning metrics, driving business decisions, and partnering with ML teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct data analyses deliver insights and learnings on marketing and engineering initiatives / programs (BI) for all customer segments based on usage.
  • Define, generate, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI) metrics for different M365 Copilot adoption and consumptive insights for executive and external reporting
  • Automate reporting and provide exploration capability for reporting users
  • Partner with multiple engineering and marketing teams to explore data, design learning plan, and conduct analyses
  • Present insights and learnings to key stakeholders / executives, drive actions and impact
  • Provide thought leadership on customer solution areas marketing based on insights / learning from hypothesis proven with deep analytics
  • Partner with Machine Learning Science team to identify causal drivers, develop forecasting, customer profiling.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field
    • OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) or consulting experience
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years working on very large data sets of sparse high dimensional data and experience in pre-processing and analyzing such data using Sql or scripting languages to gain actionable insights.
  • 4+ years of experience in processing and building visualizations using reporting tool as Power BI.
  • Passionate about AI, with a firm understanding of the problem space or passionate about applying your skillset to new domain areas.
  • An independent self-starter who likes to take ownership and independently seeks out new challenges.
  • Proven skills in statistics/machine learning languages and packages such as Python, R, Azure ML.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to synthesize complex issues/scenarios into easy-to-understand concepts, solid experience in presenting findings to an executive audience.
  • Attention to detail with self-discipline and a drive for results.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries.

Data Science IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
