About the RoleThe
Security Configuration Baseline Engineer is responsible for designing, engineering, and operationalizing security configuration baselines across enterprise technology environments. This role is deeply technical and focuses on implementing baseline-as-code-not advisory architecture.
You will translate security policies, industry frameworks, and risk requirements into codified, enforceable, and auditable baselines. You will help drive preventative controls, drift detection, exception workflows, and enterprise-scale governance through the Cloud Security Benchmark (CSB) system of record.
This role sits at the intersection of
cloud security,
GRC,
risk management, and
automation.
Minimum Qualifications- 5+ years cloud security, platform security, or security engineering experience
- 3+ years risk and control experience
- 3-5 years cloud security posture management experience
- 2-4 years scripting/software development experience (Python preferred; ability to write automation scripts)
- Hands-on experience with security configuration baselines or hardening standards
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Public cloud platforms (Azure and/or Google Cloud)
- Policy-as-code or guardrail frameworks
- Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform)
- Experience mapping security controls to industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO, CSA)
- Ability to create structured, audit-ready documentation
- Experience working in large, regulated enterprises
Preferred Qualifications- Experience contributing to or managing a baseline-as-code program
- Familiarity with cloud organization-level governance (e.g., management groups, org policies, folders)
- Experience integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to risk management, audit response, or regulatory exam processes
- Experience automating governance workflows (e.g., exceptions, control validation, reporting)
- Background in regulated industries (financial services preferred)
