Client is seeking an experienced C/Linux Systems Programmer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Linux-based systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on programming experience in C and Unix/Linux environments, along with scripting experience in Python and/or Perl.
The candidate should be comfortable working at the systems level, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and collaborating with infrastructure and application engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop, enhance, and maintain Linux/Unix-based systems applications and utilities using C.
· Write and maintain automation and support scripts using Python and Perl.
· Troubleshoot complex Linux/Unix system issues and perform root-cause analysis.
· Develop and maintain system-level tools and processes.
· Work with system services, processes, networking, file systems, and operating system components.
· Support authentication and security-related integrations, including Kerberos.
· Analyze system performance, logs, and application behavior to identify and resolve issues.
· Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application development, and operations teams.
· Participate in design, development, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
· Maintain technical documentation and follow established development and security standards.
· Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving system reliability and automation.
Required Skills
· Strong hands-on programming experience with C.
· Strong experience working with Linux/Unix systems.
· Experience with Python scripting and automation.
· Experience with Perl scripting.
· Experience with Kerberos authentication and security concepts.
· Strong understanding of Linux/Unix system administration and troubleshooting.
· Experience with shell scripting and command-line utilities.
· Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work effectively in a collaborative enterprise environment.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with financial services or investment banking environments.
· Experience developing system-level applications or infrastructure tools.
· Knowledge of Linux networking and system security.
· Experience with authentication protocols and enterprise security infrastructure.
· Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices.
· Experience supporting production systems in a large-scale enterprise environment.
