About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team . This is a hands-on individual contributor role embedded within a high-performance, full-stack engineering organization.

Our engineering organization is structured so that each domain team owns its full vertical stack end to end - from backend services and APIs through frontend and DevOps. Candidates must bring genuine depth across all of these layers and be able to make meaningful contributions from day one with minimal ramp time.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain consumer-facing rental product features across the full stack (backend, APIs, frontend, infrastructure)
• Develop and integrate domain-related services - including search and discovery experiences, listing detail pages, lead capture flows, and third-party listing provider integrations
• Write high-quality, well-tested code; contribute to test automation standards in line with our engineering-owned quality model
• Own operational quality for work delivered - including observability, alerting, and incident readiness
• Drive delivery with strong personal ownership - managing scope, timelines, and cross-functional dependencies proactively within contract duration
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Windsurf) and adopt efficient development workflows
• Collaborate across teams and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical partners and stakeholders

What you will bring

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with significant focus on consumer-facing products at scale
• Proven full-stack engineering capability - backend services, RESTful/GraphQL APIs, frontend (React or equivalent), and cloud/DevOps
• Strong frontend experience is required; candidates with limited frontend depth will not meet the bar for this role
• Experience building consumer search, marketplace, or listing-based products - rental, real estate, or high-traffic consumer web products strongly preferred
• Demonstrated operational ownership: SLOs, observability, incident management
• Experience with test automation - unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks
• Ability to independently drive features from scoping through delivery within a defined contract timeline
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences
• Adaptability and ability to contribute meaningfully across domains and team contexts with minimal onboarding

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and workflows
• Background in real estate, rentals, or other high-traffic consumer web products
• Familiarity with third-party listing data providers or rental platform integrations

Familiarity with data- and metrics-driven engineering cultures; comfort with KPIs and performance accountability
