Position: Staff Software Engineer
Client: Saint Paul, MN

Duration : Contract For 1+ years





Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the architecture, design, and development of a new Android mobile application for drone flight planning and execution.
  • Own and maintain the existing iOS application, ensuring compatibility with evolving backend APIs and platform updates.
  • Define and implement mobile software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, UX, and Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand business challenges, gather requirements, and validate solutions.
  • Develop prototypes, evaluate technical feasibility, and transform concepts into production-ready applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance, scalability, and reliability issues.
  • Drive adoption of modern AI-powered software development practices and workflows.
  • Serve as a technical advisor across mobile, cloud, web, desktop, and embedded systems teams.
  • Contribute to long-term mobile platform strategy and technology roadmaps.
  • Participate in drone flight testing to validate application functionality in real-world environments.
  • Support code reviews, technical mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • 6+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on Android development experience using Kotlin and/or Java.
  • Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and design principles.
  • Experience with debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently as a technical lead or sole developer.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Passion for customer-focused product development and innovation.
