We are seeking a seasoned SAP Platform Architect to support a large-scale enterprise transformation initiative. This consultant will provide technical leadership across SAP platform operations, environment strategy, release governance, and modernization programs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on architect who thrives in complex environments, can navigate ambiguity, and has a proven track record of driving enterprise-scale technical initiatives from strategy through execution. This role requires close collaboration with technology leadership, engineering teams, platform operations, and external technology partners to ensure stability, scalability, and operational excellence across critical SAP systems.
Key Responsibilities Platform Architecture & Environment Strategy.
Define and govern enterprise SAP platform architecture across multiple development, testing, and production environments. Lead environment planning, refresh strategies, technical migration activities, and deployment readiness assessments. Evaluate and recommend architecture options to support business growth, operational efficiency, and platform resiliency. Provide technical oversight for SAP platform administration, availability, performance, and lifecycle planning. Release Management & Delivery Governance.
Establish and manage release governance processes for enterprise application deployments. Coordinate large-scale release activities, production rollouts, maintenance events, and critical platform changes. Facilitate risk assessments, deployment reviews, and stakeholder readiness checkpoints. Ensure alignment between development, infrastructure, security, and business teams throughout the release lifecycle. Delivery Automation & Platform Modernization Advance modernization initiatives focused on deployment automation, environment consistency, and delivery predictability. Support implementation of automated release controls, impact analysis processes, and deployment orchestration capabilities. 1 Collaborate with engineering teams to strengthen DevOps practices and continuous delivery capabilities. Drive process improvements that increase deployment velocity while maintaining governance and compliance standards. Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement Serve as a trusted technical advisor across architecture, engineering, operations, and governance organizations. Coordinate with software vendors, platform providers, and implementation partners to resolve technical challenges and roadmap dependencies. Lead technical discussions related to environment ownership, deployment strategy, and operational readiness. Operational Governance & Compliance Ensure adherence to enterprise change management standards and operational controls. Support audit readiness, risk management activities, and governance reviews. Participate in escalation management and provide leadership during critical production events.
Qualifications Experience:
15+ years of experience in SAP platform architecture, technical operations, release management, or enterprise application delivery. Experience supporting large, highly regulated, or complex enterprise environments. Demonstrated success leading technical initiatives with minimal supervision.
Technical Expertise:
Strong background in SAP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), deployment governance, and platform administration. Experience with enterprise release management, transport governance, and environment management practices. Familiarity with deployment automation, release orchestration, and DevOps enablement within SAP ecosystems. Exposure to modern source control, deployment automation, and change management platforms. Leadership & Communication Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills. Proven ability to influence technical and business teams across organizational boundaries. Experience managing relationships with enterprise software vendors and strategic technology partners.
