Our client is a well-established Blue Cross Blue Shield health plan on the East Coast, serving commercial, Medicare and individual members. The plan is making a major, multi-year investment in Salesforce as its engagement platform for members, providers, brokers and employer groups. Salesforce is integrated with Facets, the core administration system for enrollment, claims and billing, and with Snowflake, the enterprise data and analytics platform. You'll join a growing Salesforce delivery team working in a regulated healthcare environment (HIPAA/PHI) where quality, security and member experience come first.

The Salesforce Solution Architect owns the end-to-end design of the plan's Salesforce ecosystem. You'll set platform direction across Health Cloud, Service Cloud and Experience Cloud, and design how Salesforce connects to Facets and Snowflake. You'll guide delivery teams to build scalable, secure and supportable solutions.

•    Define the target-state Salesforce architecture, roadmap and multi-org/data strategy aligned to member, provider, broker and care-management priorities.

•    Design integration patterns (APIs, MuleSoft or other middleware, events, batch) between Salesforce, Facets (membership, claims, billing, provider) and Snowflake.

•    Own the data model, sharing and security architecture for PHI, including Shield encryption, field-level security, audit trails and least-privilege access.

•    Lead architecture reviews and design authority; make build-vs-configure decisions and hold teams to standards for Apex, LWC, Flow and DevOps.

•    Set non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, data volumes, governor limits and resilience, and own the environment and release strategy using Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines) and Salesforce CLI/SFDX.

•    Work with enterprise architecture, security, data and vendor teams, and mentor leads and developers on platform best practices.

•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience.

•    15+ years in IT, with 8+ years as a Salesforce Technical or Solution Architect on complex, multi-cloud implementations.

•    Deep expertise in Health Cloud and Service Cloud, plus Experience Cloud, Apex, LWC, Flow, integration patterns and large data volumes.

•    Proven experience integrating Salesforce with payer core systems (Facets preferred) and cloud data platforms (Snowflake preferred).

•    Strong grasp of HIPAA, PHI protection, and healthcare payer processes such as enrollment, claims, eligibility, provider data and appeals and grievances.

Salesforce Application or System Architect or CTA path certifications; MuleSoft; Salesforce CI/CD on Azure DevOps; Microsoft Azure integration services (e.g., API Management, Entra ID SSO); Agentforce/Data Cloud exposure; BCBS or payer experience.

Protect confidential and regulated member information (HIPAA/PHI) and follow secure-by-design and least-privilege practices. Keep up with Salesforce seasonal releases and use AI-assisted tools responsibly. Work across product, architecture, engineering, QA, data, security and vendor teams. Perform other duties as assigned.
