Role: AI & New Product Development (CPG) SME
Location: USA - NA-Based (Travel to client sites required)
Role Overview
The ideal candidate possesses deep domain expertise in the execution phases of New Product Development (NPD) and is highly fluent in the latest AI advancements (Generative AI, predictive analytics, modern tech stacks like Google Cloud Platform, Azure, Databricks, and Nvidia ecosystems). You must possess exceptional executive presence, the ability to command a room, and the communication skills required to act as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives (CDOs, CIOs, CMOs), translating complex AI capabilities into actionable, high-ROI business strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Executive Advisory & In-Person Engagement: Act as a strategic partner to C-suite executives. Drive critical, in-person meetings and workshops at client offices, confidently navigating complex business challenges and presenting AI-driven solutions that align with enterprise goals.
- Drive AI-Powered NPD Strategy: Lead consulting engagements focused on optimizing and accelerating the New Product Development lifecycle for global CPG brands using advanced AI and data science solutions.
- Technology Leadership: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the "latest and greatest" in the AI space. Advise clients on integrating modern AI solutions into their existing CPG tech stacks to optimize supply chain, manufacturing, and product rollout.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with our internal data science, engineering, and delivery teams to architect scalable solutions (e.g., advanced data modeling, context graphs, and predictive analytics) tailored for the CPG market.
- Practice Building & Thought Leadership: Contribute to our's go-to-market strategies for the CPG sector. Draft compelling proposals, lead pitches, and help define our service offerings around AI in NPD.
Qualifications & Experience
- US Presence & Client Site Travel: Must be based in the United States/Canada with the ability and willingness to travel frequently to client offices to lead in-person meetings, facilitate strategic workshops, and build direct relationships with client leadership.
- New Product Development Expertise: Extensive proven experience managing or consulting on the New Product Development lifecycle within the CPG industry (ideation, execution, and launch).
- Advanced AI Knowledge: Strong functional understanding of the current AI landscape, including Generative AI (LLMs like Gemini), enterprise data architecture, machine learning applications, and how these technologies specifically impact CPG operations.
- Executive Presence: A proven track record of successfully engaging, presenting to, and influencing CXO-level stakeholders at enterprise organizations.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and persuasively translate highly technical data science concepts into business value for non-technical leadership.
- Consulting Background: Previous experience in management consulting, technology consulting, or a highly strategic internal role at a major CPG company is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a strong plus.
