Job Title: Lab Informatics Transformation Lead

Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite – 4 days/week)
Duration: Long Term Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Lab Informatics Transformation Lead to drive the implementation and optimization of ELN, SDMS, and LIMS platforms. This role requires strong collaboration with scientific and IT teams to translate lab workflows into scalable informatics solutions while ensuring data integrity, traceability, and long-term sustainability.

Core Responsibilities:

Lab Workflow & User Enablement:

• Collaborate with scientists and IT teams to understand discovery lab workflows
• Translate workflows into practical ELN, SDMS, and LIMS solutions
• Ensure high user adoption and usability of implemented systems

Legacy Instrument & Data Integration:

• Assess legacy lab instruments and associated systems
• Define risk-based approaches for capturing and migrating instrument data into SDMS
• Implement both automated and manual data integration methods as needed

ELN / SDMS / LIMS Implementation:

• Lead configuration and implementation of ELN, SDMS, and LIMS platforms
• Ensure consistent data capture and experiment/sample traceability
• Prevent creation of future data silos through proper system design

System Administration & Support:

• Provide hands-on administration (user access, permissions, integrations)
• Manage instrument connections and system performance
• Support steady-state operations and compliance post go-live

Program & Vendor Management:

• Coordinate with vendors for successful project delivery
• Manage timelines, deliverables, and change management activities
• Ensure long-term sustainability of implemented solutions

Required Skills & Experience:

• Hands-on experience with ELN, SDMS, and LIMS implementation and support
• Strong understanding of discovery lab workflows, scientific processes, and data flows
• Experience working as both a scientific user and system administrator
• Expertise in integrating and maintaining lab instruments and handling instrument-generated data
• Strong knowledge of data structures, traceability, and data governance within lab environments
