Position: Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Engineer

Location: Chattanooga, TN (REMOTE)

Summary:

• Looking for a Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Engineer to assist with the design and implementation of the Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN solution across an enterprise network
• The Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Engineer will provide technical expertise in deploying Cisco SD-WAN at scale, ensuring compliance with enterprise best practices and federal mandates (EO 14028 and OMB M-22-09)
• The engagement will include architecture design, configuration development, and implementation support for connecting multiple remote sites to the SD-WAN platform
• Candidates should have proven expertise in enterprise SD-WAN design and implementation
• Candidates should be capable of designing functional architectures, implementing configurations, and delivering actionable recommendations suitable for enterprise operational and compliance requirements
• Candidates must already hold an active Confidential (SF86) clearance or higher prior to engagement
• This position is Remote, with occasional travel to Chattanooga, TN

Objectives and Scope:

Business Objectives:

• Successfully design and implement Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN to enhance enterprise network resiliency and performance
• Ensure configurations and security protocols align with enterprise standards and federal cybersecurity mandates
• Provide a scalable, secure architecture for connecting remote sites via SD-WAN

Scope of Work:

• Assist in designing functional architectures for SD-WAN connectivity across multiple remote sites
• Develop and implement configurations for Cisco 4K and 8K routers and the SD-WAN control plane/UI (Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager, formerly vManage) hosted in the cloud
• Provide consultation on best practices for configuration, security, and compliance
• Provide support during design and implementation phases, with an in-service date later this year

Requirements:

Functional Requirements:

• Architecture Design Collaborate with enterprise to design SD-WAN architecture connecting multiple remote sites
• Configuration Development Create and implement configurations for Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager and Cisco 4K/8K routers
• Security and Compliance Validate configurations against enterprise best practices and federal mandates (EO 14028, OMB M-22-09)
• Consultation and Knowledge Transfer Provide guidance on SD-WAN operational best practices and ensure that KT is performed at project close to ensure company resources are able to maintain the newly deployed production systems

Technical Requirements:

• Expertise: Real-world experience deploying Cisco SD-WAN in large-scale enterprise environments
• Strong knowledge of BGP, ASNs, and Cisco networking hardware (4K and 8K routers)
• Certifications: Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNP Enterprise, Cisco SD-WAN Specialist) preferred
• Tools: Familiarity with Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager and related configuration tools

Deliverables:

• Design Documentation SD-WAN architecture diagrams and configuration templates
• Configuration Packages Router and control plane configurations ready for deployment
• Compliance Report Validation of security posture against EO 14028 and OMB M-22-09
• Review Sessions At least one design review and one implementation readiness session

Clearance Requirement:

• Candidates must already hold an active Confidential (SF86) clearance or higher prior to engagement
• Must provide proof of clearance
