RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in San Antonio, TX that is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for building and evolving a modern, cloud-based data platform that supports enterprise analytics, reporting, and advanced data use cases. This role will oversee a growing team of engineers and partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-quality data solutions in a cloud-first environment.
Data Platform Ownership:
* Drive the development and evolution of a modern cloud-based data platform
* Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
* Support the design and implementation of data architecture patterns (e.g., Lakehouse models)
REQUIREMENTS:
* 10+ years of experience in software or data engineering
* 3+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams
* Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure preferred)
* Strong background in data engineering, data integration, and analytics
* Experience with tools such as Databricks, Synapse (or similar), and SQL
* Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
