JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Clinical Information Systems Analyst to support ambulatory clinical applications in a dynamic healthcare IT environment. This consultant will play a key role in application support, system implementation, workflow optimization, and ongoing maintenance of clinical systems.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical expertise, hands-on experience with healthcare applications, and the ability to translate complex clinical requirements into scalable technical solutions. This role requires both operational support and project-based work, including system upgrades, testing, and collaboration with clinical stakeholders and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day operational support for clinical applications, including issue resolution and service requests
- Lead and participate in system implementation, upgrades, and enhancement initiatives
- Analyze clinical workflows and translate business requirements into system design and technical solutions
- Develop, execute, and document detailed test plans for system changes and upgrades
- Troubleshoot application issues and interface integrations (inbound/outbound)
- Collaborate with clinical staff, IT teams, and third-party vendors to ensure system performance and usability
- Create and maintain system documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures
- Support end-user training and adoption of system enhancements
- Identify risks, issues, and improvement opportunities; provide recommendations and solutions
- Participate in project management activities, including task delegation and deliverable review
- Ensure systems meet operational, regulatory, and infrastructure requirements
- Participate in on-call rotation to support 24/7 operations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- (Or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree)
- Minimum 5 years of healthcare IT experience, including implementation, testing, and support
- Hands-on experience with clinical applications such as Revenue Cycle and PowerChart
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex technical issues independently
- Experience supporting clinical workflows in a healthcare environment
- Proven ability to develop and execute test plans and validate system functionality
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts in business terms
- Experience troubleshooting system interfaces and integrations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call support
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting ambulatory clinical systems
- Prior consulting experience in healthcare IT environments
- Familiarity with system optimization and workflow standardization initiatives
