Position Overview

Seeking a detail-oriented QA Analyst to support and maintain Background Record Check (BRC) applications.

This position includes:
  • Functional testing
  • Production support
  • Contact Center support assistance
  • Support for Background Record Check staff
  • Ensuring system reliability
  • Maintaining data integrity
  • Supporting a positive user experience for internal and external stakeholders

The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency with:
  • SQL
  • Automated testing techniques
  • JIRA (including Xray)
  • Administrative support tasks
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Professional communication skills
Position Duties & Responsibilities
Quality Assurance
  • Provide expert quality assurance services
  • Perform and lead testing activities to ensure systems meet standards and requirements
  • Work closely with application teams
  • Create complex test data for application testing
  • Devise improvements to current QA procedures
  • Develop models of future configurations
  • Perform complex workflow analysis
  • Recommend process and workflow improvements
Candidate Questions / Required Experience
QA & Testing
  • How many years of direct manual QA experience?
  • Experience creating test scripts, software testing methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience with Jira Xray (years)
  • Experience with test execution, defect management, and results communication
  • Experience performing functional and regression testing on BRC applications
  • Experience logging, tracking, and verifying defects through resolution
Production Support
  • Experience managing and triaging support tickets from business partners and Contact Center escalations
  • Experience assisting with User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • Creating use cases
    • Demonstrating workflows
    • Working directly with UAT teams
Automation
  • Experience with automated testing that may benefit the project
Technical Skills
  • Years of SQL querying experience
  • WCAG 2.1 Accessibility experience
  • Experience performing accessibility testing during deployments
Business & Communication
  • Years of experience working with business partners
  • Experience gathering and interpreting business requirements
  • LinkedIn profile required
Additional Requirements
  • Position may be filled before the closing date.
  • Contractor is expected to work a 37.5-hour work week.
  • Resources should be informed of the work schedule and contract expectations.
  • If the resource has a relative working at the Executive Office of Education, this must be disclosed during submission.
  • CORI requirements apply after resource selection.
